Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Longboat Key is home to many excellent restaurants, from cozy seaside shacks to refined fine dining establishments. Euphemia Haye is a romantic dining destination described by Frommer’s as “this area’s most extraordinary restaurant.” Euphemia Haye opened in 1975 with just 28 seats inside a historic coastal cottage. Recent years have seen the addition of an enchanting garden dining space and a stylish loft lounge. Their eclectic menu includes Key West snapper seasoned with pistachios, jumbo shrimp served in homemade curry sauce, and elegant land-based entrées such as roasted duckling and prime peppered steak. Chart House combines elegant island-style seafood dining with unbeatable waterfront views. Mar Vista is a rustic seafood eatery housed within an early-1900s dockside beach house. The Drydock Waterfront Grill is a casual seaside favorite serving ocean-fresh seafood and specialty cocktails. Other dining highlights include chic French cuisine and fine wines at Maison Blanche, authentic Italian fare at Bayou Tavern, and traditional American fine dining at Harry’s Continental Kitchens. Longboat Key is also within easy reach of many restaurants and retailers at St. Armands Circle and on the mainland in Sarasota.
